Hey there!

I love (good) stories. Growing up, I was an avid reader and lover of rom-coms where the main characters worked for magazines or wrote for a living. I planned to go into publishing or advertising. I ended up in brand strategy, which fused my love of writing and storytelling with my business degree.

After 12 years in the agency world, I took the plunge and started freelancing to balance branding with other passions. In this chapter of my life, I’m helping people and businesses break the storytelling mold—on my own terms.

  • Understand and articulate what you or your brand stands for. What makes you so special? Why do people choose you over others? What is the fundamental belief system that informs everything you do? We can define your North Star with a compelling positioning framework that incorporates your mission, vision, and purpose.

  • Figure out what to call your business, brand, product, or service. We can do a one-off project or evaluate your entire portfolio. Before exploration, we’ll define the creative brief together and ensure it’s aligned with your business and strategic goals. If you are an agency specifically looking for name generation support by the hour, I do that too.

  • Organize your portfolio of brands, products, and services so your clients and customers clearly understand what you offer. How are your offerings related to each other? What roles do your masterbrand and subbrands play? What does the branding and naming approach across your portfolio say about you? This is an excellent exercise to go through as you consider creating new offerings, sunsetting old ones, and evaluating opportunities to grow your business.

  • Know what to say and how to say it. Words matter—whether they are going on your website, in a presentation, or on a product label. We define your messaging objectives and the language that delivers on them. Once a messaging strategy is finalized, I can provide additional copywriting support to bring your brand to life across specific channels and mediums.

  • Sometimes a pithy, powerful phrase could be just what you need to cement your brand in people’s minds. Similar to the naming process, we’ll define the creative brief together and ensure it’s aligned with your business and strategic goals. If you are an agency specifically looking for tagline generation support by the hour, I do that too.

  • Depending on your range of needs, we can arrange to work together in a way that combines some or all of the above disciplines. Sometimes, you just need a strategist on call to solve the obvious and not-so-obvious brand conundrums that come up.

  • Throughout my career, I’ve worked with all types of clients, including players in healthcare, finance, energy, technology, CPG, retail, and more.

    As a freelancer, I work directly with individuals, organizations (for-profit and non-profit), and agencies.
